Josh Duggar Prison Transfer Called Retaliation Over Legal Mail Dispute

Josh Duggar’s latest transfer to another federal prison has drawn criticism after his attorney alleged that officials relocated the former reality TV personality in retaliation for speaking out about conditions inside the facility.

Josh’s attorney, Beau Brindley, said the move from FCI Seagoville in Texas to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth had nothing to do with Josh’s health, even though the destination is intended for inmates with medical and mental health needs.

Brindley argues that the transfer was retaliatory, claiming it came after he and Josh voiced concerns during a recent court hearing about alleged issues involving the handling of legal mail at Seagoville.

According to the attorney, Bureau of Prisons officials characterized the relocation as a “routine transfer” but gave no further reason, and he described the decision as both unnecessary and stressful.

Brindley also told TMZ that he spoke with Josh over the phone, and Josh maintained that he was not dealing with any illness despite being transferred to a medical facility.

Josh Duggar, who previously appeared on “19 Kids and Counting,” is serving a 12.5-year federal prison term following his 2021 conviction for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.

While Josh’s attorneys continue to dispute elements of both his case and the conditions of his incarceration, federal authorities have not publicly addressed the allegations made by his lawyer.

The Bureau of Prisons has not issued any public statement explaining why Josh was transferred.
